FBA Boys & Girls, Grades Pre-K (Beginner)

The FBA program is for grades Pre-K and K, and will be conducted on Saturdays only, for 6-7 weeks starting in early January (exact date and time TBD). This will be a clinic style, skills focused program that will introduce our youngest players to the basics of basketball.

The cost is $25 per player.

Boys & Girls, Grades 1-2 (Beginner)

Grades 1 and 2 will still focus on skills development, but will also add more focus on game situations, and games will be played against teams from the local area. Grades 1 and 2 will practice one night a week (night/time TBD). Any players not interested in game play can still participate in FBA on Saturdays starting in January (with our PreK and K group--please specify on registration form if choosing this option for child). Practices will begin in late November and more details to come via email.

The cost is $25 per player.

Girls and Boys Basketball | Grades 3–6

We’re excited to announce that our girls and boys basketball programs for grades 3–6 will once again participate in the GBC-YAC League this season! The league offers a recreational, skill-focused environment where players can learn the game through weekly team practices and games against five other participating schools. Games will be played on Saturdays only for this Rec league. This league is based on equal play and participation; no wins/losses will be recorded.

Registration is $60 per player.

We will hold a basketball raffle similar to last year. Each player who registers and pays the $60 fee will receive six $10 raffle tickets during the first week of practices. Families may sell these tickets and keep the money collected. If you sell all six, you’ll recover the full $60 registration cost. Filled out and returned ticket stubs will need to be collected by mid-December. The raffle drawing will likely be held in Mid-Late December.

Players may also have an opportunity to be selected for a Binghamton Bulldogs league team, this league is generally more competitive. If your child is selected and you choose for them to participate, there will be an additional $40 fee (this fee will not be associated with the raffle ticket drawing and there is no way to recover this fee back). Participation in the Bulldogs league team is optional. This team will practice one night per week with some weekly night games mixed in as well; games are played at Binghamton Bulldogs complex. This league will run during the same time frame as our GBC-YAC recreational league (so it can be a busy season doing both). This competitive league will not be based on equal play or participation; wins/losses will be recorded.

Girls will operate with two Bulldogs teams; a 3rd/4th grade team and a 5th/6th grade team. Boys will operate with each grade level having a Bulldogs team because of higher participation numbers and involvement.

Cheerleading

We will again offer a Winter Cheerleading program this year. Grades K-2 will focus on skills and drills- cheerleaders will learn the basic fundamentals of cheerleading - arm motions, jumps, stunts, and a few sideline routines. Grades 3-6 will be a competition based with the hopes of competing in at least 1 competition. (in Elmira, date TBD). We are looking at options to potentially cheer at basketball games, and maybe a BCC showcase.

Registration fee will be $40 dollars, that will cover comp fees, and bows. Uniform deposit is a separate $85 refundable check. Families are responsible for sneakers, socks, and body basics. We will discuss those purchases at a later date- team meeting.

The signup deadline for Winter Cheerleading is Friday, October 23rd. The deadline for Grades 1-2 Co-Ed and grades 3-6 Boys and Girls programs is November 1st. FBA sign-ups will be accepted through the end of December.
