CF Youth Football offers multiple levels of Flag and Tackle football for children in grades K - 6. Football program level is determined by player grade level (grade child is entering in Fall 2026). Programs available are:
Flag Football:
Flag Football has two levels, Rookie Flag (beginner/K) and Advanced Flag (grades 1 and 2). In both levels, players don't wear pads (other than special headgear) and wear flags hanging off belts around their waists. Ball carriers are ‘tackled’ by their opponent by pulling off a flag. Players learn the basic skills of offense and defense, and learn simple plays and techniques. In Advanced Flag there is an increased emphasis on skills development, and game play.
The CFCA is implementing a policy of "flag headgear" for all levels of flag this year. All players at both levels will wear this special headgear. The sign-up fee includes a new headgear for each player (these are not reused like the hard shell helmets used at upper levels). New or returning players who already have this headgear from prior years can get a $35 discount on the Flag fee. Please specify that you have headgear to reuse at the time of signups.
Tackle Football:
Grades 3/4 and 5/6 (Tackle): Players wear full football equipment, and participate in ‘full contact’ football. Teams play by the same set of rules as school ‘modified’ programs play by, with a few additional rules included for safety, and to speed up games. Games are played on Sunday’s from August to October, and CF teams play against teams from other local school districts.
See the section on this page for program fee details. Questions? Contact Commissioner Jaime Allen, 607-727-6720.

CFCA Youth Cheerleading offers athletes enrolled the opportunity to learn the basics of cheerleading. We will offer TWO options for cheerleading this year.
Sidelines Cheerleading: Learn the basics of cheerleading and sideline cheers. Attend the CF Youth Football games, both home and away, and cheer for the CF team.
Competition Cheerleading: Learn the basics of cheerleading, sideline cheers, and a competition routine. Attend the CF Youth Football games, both home and away, and cheer for the CF team. Athletes MUST also attend 3 local Cheer Competitions where they will compete against other squads in their age group. Competitions are held at the end of the season typically between October and November. Competition Cheerleading requires commitment to attend every practice and event. Squads to be determined by age and proficiency during tryouts.
Uniforms will be provided (with a $85 refundable deposit). Mandatory body basics and all white sneakers will need to be purchased. See the section on this page for program fee details.
Important Note: Due to a lack of volunteer coaches, and with a top priority of athlete safety in mind, there will be a limited number of signups accepted. Signups will be taken on a 1st come, 1st served basis, with priority given to athletes from within the CF school district, and returning cheerleaders. Children signed up after limits have been reached by age group will be placed on a waiting list, and could be added to an active roster if more volunteers come forward. The Cheer commissioner and committee are actively looking for more Cheer coaches!! If you would like to volunteer to coach, or know someone that would, please contact the Cheer commissioner. The CFCA board and Cheer committee regret the need for imposing signup limits, but our top priority needs to be the safety and well being of our youth athletes.

Following the success of our Spring Girls Flag pilot, we are offering a Fall competitive program. There will be two divisions: 3rd & 4th grade developmental and 5th & 6th grade competitive. They will practice on opposite days of cheerleading (Wed / Fri) starting the week of August 16th at 6pm on the practice fields behind the elementary school. Games will be played on Sundays against other schools. Home games will be played on the HS turf field. The games will start September 13th and end November 1st. The fee of $45 will cover a soft shell helmet (required in NYS) and a game shirt. Flags will be supplied for practice and games. There are 10 other teams in the league. Susquehanna Valley, Owego, Vestal, Johnson City, Lansing, Binghamton, Maine Endwell, Horseheads, Union Endicott, Greene. Girls in grades K - 2 are welcome to sign-up for regular Flag football, but as there are no other teams in the area to play against in that age group, we will not have a dedicated girls team. Please email cfcaquestsions@gmail.com with any questions.
The CFCA Golf program is new this year. Golf is planned to run for 6 weeks during the early fall, exact days/times still TBD as we will be working to minimize conflicts with other Fall sports. Golf instruction at both a driving range and on a golf course is planned. Equipment will be provided or players can bring their own. Each player will receive a CFCA Golf shirt. Fee is $90 per player. Please direct questions to Dave Starr, d.starr1@yahoo.com, or Emily Cotcamp, ecotcamp@gmail.com.

*Reduced Fees for Families with Financial Hardship: As the CF district has moved to an entirely "free lunch" program, the CFCA can no longer use this criteria as a basis for decisions about reduced CFCA fees. The CFCA has always tried to ensure that all families have the opportunity for children to participate in our programs. If you feel you need this assistance, you can request the reduced rate, which is typically 1/2 of the standard rate. Please request this reduced fee at the time of payment at in-person sign-ups, or send an email request to cfcaquestions@gmail.com to receive the reduced rate for mail-in sign-ups.
Sign-up optionsLocal youth soccer is not run by the CFCA, it is provided by the CF Empire United association. Soccer registration is all on-line and can be accessed on their homepage using the link below. Email cfempiresoccer@gmail.com for more information.
